Fermented Pickles
Perfect as a snack, side dish, or a crunchy addition to your sandwiches, these fermented pickles are a delicious and healthy treat- and they’re so easy to make at home with only a handful of ingredients!

Ingredients

  • (1 Gallon) Cucumbers, sliced
  • (6 Cups) Water
  • (2 Cups) Vinegar
  • (1/3 Cup) Salt
  • (1/2 tsp.) Turmeric (optional)
  • 1 head dill or dill seed
  • (2 cloves) Garlic

Directions

  1. Soak your cucumbers in ice cold water for 2 hours.
  2. Mix water, vinegar, salt, and turmeric.
  3. Bring to a roiling boil.
  4. Add cucumbers, 1 head of dill or dill seed, and 2 cloves garlic into gallon jar.
  5. Pour boiling water mixture over cucumbers.
  6. Cover with paper towel and secure with a rubber band. 
  7. Let set on counter for 5-7 days, then refrigerate.
