Why We Carry This Milk

Raised nearby by a family whose standards match our own

The milk we offer comes from another Amish family farm just down the road from Hobby Ag. We chose to work with them because their approach reflects what we want for our own table: healthy cows, abundant forage, careful handling and a direct relationship between the farm and the families drinking the milk.

This milk comes from a known neighboring dairy—not an anonymous supply chain. It is produced here in the Lykens Valley, bottled fresh, and kept cold until it reaches your household.

We may not milk the cows ourselves, but we know the family that does.

Common Questions

Before you order

What does A2/A2 milk mean?

A2/A2 refers to the type of beta-casein protein produced by the cows. Our product listings identify the milk supplied from the A2/A2 herd.

Is the milk homogenized?

No. The milk is not homogenized, so cream naturally rises to the top. Gently shake the container when you want the cream mixed back into the milk.

How should I store it?

Keep the milk consistently refrigerated and return it to the refrigerator promptly after pouring. Follow all handling instructions printed on the product label.

Can I freeze the milk?

Many customers freeze milk for later use. Leave room in the container for expansion and thaw it slowly in the refrigerator. Some separation in texture may occur after freezing.

Is the dairy located at Hobby Ag?

The milk is produced by a neighboring Amish family dairy in the Lykens Valley. Hobby Ag works with the dairy and makes its products available through our store, delivery and pickup network.

Can I visit the farm?

Hobby Ag welcomes customers for scheduled events and farm tours. The supplying dairy is a separate family farm and is not generally open for unscheduled visits.

Why do some listings mention cats and dogs?

Product labeling and permitted sales vary by item. Always read the individual listing and product label so you understand its stated use before ordering.
